Often in our lives we experience situations, relationships, events, and/or changes that can cause a significant amount of stress which affects our well-being. Sometimes we have the tools and support to manage this stress on our own, and other times we may need some help. I believe that the goal of counseling is to provide much-needed support in these times, and to teach skills so that managing these stressful times becomes a natural habit.
I am a clinical resident here at Life Worth Living, which means I am completing my last term of clinical internship hours here while finishing up my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Xavier University. It also allows me to see clients at a very affordable rate ($60 for the initial session, $40 thereafter) while continuing to consult with our team of specialized therapists. I have gained experience in the past year working with a wide range of ages and mental disorders, and I have a passion for working with adolescents and young adults experiencing change, stress, or some level of trauma. I also have experience working with clients who struggle with behavioral problems, depression, anxiety, trauma-related disorders, and personality disorders.
As a counselor, my goal is to make sure my clients feel empowered to accomplish their goals. In order to do this, I use a combination of Person-Centered Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I am excited to be by your side during this journey to finding your best self!
