Kristy Bateman, Clinical Resident

As Life Worth Living’s Clinical Resident, I am finishing up my clinical experience under the supervision of Patricia D. Baker, LPCC-S. I am grateful for an opportunity to work with the clinicians at Life Worth Living, where high importance is placed on a individualized wellness for clients, a team approach to counseling, value on continuing education, and excellent supervision for counselors. As a clinical resident, I am eager to provide high-quality services to you under supervision at a reduced rate!

I provide an individualized, strengths-focused approach to counseling. I will facilitate the therapeutic process to empower you and/or your child to make the changes that you want to make and reach your full potential!  I utilize trauma-informed care, child-centered play therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapies for children, adolescents, and adults.

I have experience working with a diverse population of children and adolescents with a variety of complex emotional and behavioral considerations in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I have many years of experience working with adults and children who have experienced trauma. I also have experience and interest in working with children with “acting out,” antisocial, and aggressive behaviors. Furthermore, I enjoy working with individuals learning to overcome anxiety, depression, adjustment, attachment, and related concerns.  Currently, I am participating in the DBT consultation team and coleading one of the DBT adolescent classes, so I am able to introduce pieces of DBT (as appropriate) into my work with clients.
