LWL Services

As a practice, we have a mission to focus on our clients and families becoming well and more engaged with themselves and their own life to attain the version of life they are trying to experience. We want to understand the reasons and events that brought you to us, and work together with you to be more contently and wholly you. We will do our best to provide the most skilled clinician(s) and/or treatment recommendation for this part of your journey whether or not that match happens to be within our walls. We look forward to hearing from you!

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT®)

DBT® is a treatment protocol that is often recommended for clients who have struggled with life threatening or interfering behaviors and/or frequent hospitalizations. In its full capacity, clients work with a formally trained DBT® therapist to do weekly group skills training as well as participate in weekly individual DBT® therapy to specifically apply these skills while tracking their effectiveness towards thought patterns, emotional responses, and overt behavior changes over the course of 6 months - 1 year. Individual DBT® therapy is a high level commitment from both the client and the therapist, and it requires proper education and orientation for both parties to engage in the full treatment protocol. While many clients are referred for what may be called “DBT” services, there are many levels of DBT that can be provided. For this reason, most programs, including ours, requires an intake prior to enrollment in any part of it to learn about each other and decide which level of commitment and treatment is clinically appropriate. Unlike most programs, we are in person and we do NOT require that our clients do their individual treatment within our walls.

Trauma Treatment

Trauma is not only defined in terms of what others might consider a life-altering or dramatic event that causes clear physical or emotional damage. Trauma can take place in many ways. It may be limited to a single event or a relationship, or it could be the cumulative result of various experiences over time and not be noticed or understood until much later. Our therapists have several different layers of training and approaches in helping clients better understand, explore, and heal from their trauma.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a physiologically and evidence-based treatment intended to work through trauma and challenge core beliefs that may be getting in the way of clients optimal functioning or therapeutic change. It requires special training and supervision for clinicians to be able to offer the treatment at different levels.

Anxiety

There are many ways to experience anxiety, and we are happy to help sift through that with you. Whether it means neurodivergent experiences, OCD-like traits, or just differentiation between motivation, procrastination, and perfectionism, we love to explore the pros and cons of how your brain works with you.

Child/Adolescent & Family Therapy

When seeking therapy for children, it typically involves the family in some way. We have team members who have different approaches and backgrounds in training to help address the emotional and behavioral needs of kids. Our team approach helps us support your family through means of consultation, communication, and additional therapist support where needed.
